I am an Integrative counsellor which is a fusion of two main types of counselling, Person Centred and Psychodynamic. I start from the premise that we all want to achieve our full potential, e.g. a rose with the right condition (sunshine, fertile soil etc) will grow and blossom, but a rose growing in poor soil and lacking in sunlight will try and grow and be the best it can be in those conditions. Life's journey is difficult! With many hurdles, but with counselling to help us overcome these difficulties, we look at the causes to enable us to find our own solutions. I am also a fully qualified CBT therapist, which his looks at our cognitive process that is how we think. It highlights the link between our thoughts, our feelings and our behaviour, and how this cycle contributes to the problems and difficulties in our lives. It focuses on the problems and difficulties we are facing now, and is a pro-active therapy.
