I am a qualified Music Psychotherapist (HCPC-registered) with over 10 years' experience working therapeutically with adults, children, and professionals in the UK and internationally. My work spans diverse settings and life challenges, including trauma, addiction, bereavement, identity, and chronic health conditions. I hold an MSc in Music Psychotherapy (psychodynamic/person-centred focus), a certification in CBT counselling, and an MA in Cultural Anthropology, with experience in research and teaching. Grounded in evidence-informed practice, I create safe, inclusive, and empathetic spaces, supporting individuals' growth, resilience, and self-understanding, while also contributing to the education of future therapists.
I have over 10 years' experience working and volunteering therapeutically with adults, children, and fellow professionals, both in the UK and internationally. I have supported people navigating a wide range of life experiences, including the effects of war and complex trauma, addiction, bereavement and loss, spiritual exploration, sexuality and identity, relocation, chronic physical health conditions, relationship and family challenges, and discrimination. My work has taken place across diverse settings, from children's oncology units to shelters and voluntary sector organisations, as well as within NHS services. I am a qualified Music Psychotherapist and a registered member of the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). I hold a Master of Science in Music Psychotherapy, specialising in psychodynamic approaches underpinned by person-centred care, as clinically applied within NHS Lothian, and I am also certified in CBT-applied counselling practice through the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA). I also hold an integrated Master of Arts in Cultural Anthropology and have conducted scientific research and taught academically on topics related to the Arts Therapies, including Art, Drama, and Music Psychotherapy. My work is grounded in evidence-informed practice, drawing on research, clinical supervision, and ongoing professional development to ensure my approach is both effective and current. I am passionate about creating a safe, inclusive, and empathetic space where people feel truly heard, respected, and supported as they explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences. I also contribute to education as an external lecturer at UK universities, sharing clinical knowledge and insights with the next generation of therapists. I adhere to the highest standards of confidentiality and provide therapy with compassion, professionalism, and a commitment to supporting each person's unique journey towards self-understanding, emotional resilience, and personal growth.
Music Psychotherapy Counselling Clinical Supervision
I use a psychodynamic approach embedded within person-centred care, as approached and informed by clinical practice in NHS Scotland, alongside techniques drawn from CBT counselling training, tailoring my work to what best supports each individual. My practice is inclusive, sensitive to experiences of oppression, and grounded in deep respect for each person's unique identity, values, and life journey. I create a safe, welcoming, and non-judgmental space where clients—whether children, young people, adults, or fellow therapists—can explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences at a pace that feels right for them. Through music therapy and reflective dialogue, we work collaboratively to foster self-understanding, emotional resilience, and meaningful personal growth. My aim is to accompany each person with compassion, sensitivity, and professionalism, supporting them to navigate life's challenges, develop coping strategies, and build a stronger sense of connection, empowerment, and wellbeing.
