About me

I am a UKCP Adult Integrative counsellor and Psychotherapist; and Clinical Supervisor. I have been practicing psychotherapy for over 20 years. I work online with client in UK and across Europe.

I have always been interested in psychology and psychotherapy, and in particular the concept of the unconscious, and how early life experiences influence our adult lives. This concept is something that has accompanied me in my personal and professional development and forms the foundation of my clinical practice.

I believe in a personalised approach, putting my relationship with you at the centre of the therapeutic process, and by offering a safe and confidential space where difficulties can be explored and worked through regular sessions. Whether you are feeling stuck in repeating patterns, struggling in relationships, or simply wanting to understand yourself more deeply, therapy provides a safe space to explore these challenges and work towards change. It is my aim to create a collaborative, supportive and trusting environment where together we seek to reduce distress, improve wellbeing, and support your personal growth, helping you to navigate life challenges by developing greater self-awareness and emotional resilience.

Experience

Specialisms

I offer psychological and therapeutic treatments for a wide range of emotional difficulties. I support individual experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, trauma related experiences, low self-esteem, work-related issues and life transitions.

In particular, having gone through a number of transitions myself, either relocations or personal change, has given me a broad understanding of the challenges, as well as the great growth opportunities, that living internationally and as an expatriate offer. In particular, I can empathise with issues around cultural adjustment, transition, anxiety, stress and loneliness that living abroad can bring.

My Approach

I offer short and long term therapy; which means therapy takes place over a period of weeks, months or years. Sessions last 50 minutes and are regular in order to provide consistent support and regularity. Although the frequency of sessions (once or twice a week) is agreed during our initial consultation, how long we work together depends on whether you need support just for a few sessions or to sort out a specific issue or instead want to look at things in more in-depth as well as you motivation and commitments.

Our first meeting is an initial consultation to look at how we might work together and decide if counselling is right for you. The consultation last 50 minutes and there is no commitment to on-going sessions at this stage. The aim of our first meeting is to focus on your concerns and what brings you to seek therapy; your background, current situation and what you hope to achieve from therapy. There will be space to ask questions about the therapy process and what to expect as well as explain the timing and schedule of sessions, details about the fees and any practical aspects including the therapeutic agreement.
