About me

We all go through times when life feels heavy, confusing, or repetitive. Sometimes we find ourselves caught in patterns that we can’t quite make sense of, withdrawing from others, saying yes when we want to say no, or feeling disconnected from our own needs.

Gestalt therapy offers a way to slow down, make sense of what’s happening in the here-and-now, and explore how your past experiences may be shaping your present relationships. In therapy with me, you’ll have space to notice, reflect, and begin to reconnect with a fuller sense of self.

There is no judgment or expectation - only curiosity about your experience and what emerges between us.

Experience

I am a qualified Gestalt Counsellor, having completed my training at The Gestalt Centre, London. I have had a long-term journey with Gestalt Therapy; first as a client, then as a trainee, and now as a qualified practitioner seeing my own clients.

Before training as a counsellor, I worked in Higher Education for fourteen years, focusing on arts subjects and student welfare. I supported adults navigating a wide range of complex personal challenges. This background gave me a deep respect for the courage it takes to ask for help and the importance of being met with warmth and authenticity.

My approach is grounded, relational, and collaborative. I aim to create a space where you feel seen and supported to explore whatever is important for you in the here and now.

Specialisms

My practice is rooted in Gestalt, which is a person-centred therapy that focuses on personal growth and the present moment.

We will pay close attention to what’s happening for you and between us in the session -  such as your thoughts, feelings, and sensations - as a way to increase your awareness.

Rather than analysing from a distance, Gestalt therapy is experiential. We might use metaphor, devise small creative experiments, use art materials in a simple way, or try out mindfulness techniques to explore how you experience yourself and your relationships.

My Approach

My emphasis will be on encouraging you to be curious and notice new things about yourself. My role will be to support you to fully experience moments of contact and connection, and find your own way forward.

As a Gestalt therapist, I also work in an embodied way. This simply means that what’s happening in your body can be as important as what’s happening in your thoughts or emotions. We will work out a way of discussing this together in our sessions.

Together, we will focus on the ‘here and now’ of your present experience. This collaboration can help clients notice their patterns, take self-responsibility, and support them to make changes.

I meet clients in-person at The Gestalt Centre London, or online on either Google Meet or Microsoft Teams.

My standard fee operates on a sliding scale of £65–£80 per 50-minute session, agreed together before the first session.

I have a small number of low-cost concessionary spaces available to those on low or no income. These rates will be agreed on discussion; please flag this in your initial enquiry.

You will be invoiced by me at the end of each month and payment is made by bank transfer. Other payment options are available on discussion.
