I began working with psychological problems in 1991 as a volunteer with Victim Support , and with Childline. After 2 years practical training , an opportunity evolved for me in the addictions field.

I have an extensive career as a professional in the substance misuse field (since 1993). Over that time I played key roles is some of the most unique and ground breaking alcohol services in the country, where the remit was to provide innovate approaches to engaging people from diverse communities who would not normally present to alcohol services.

Within these roles I have worked as a manager, supervisor & clinical lead, group worker and as a 1-1 counsellor. These services have included NHS and 'third sector' organizations .

My main interest in addictions work has been in relation to alcohol problems. Having worked with so many clients and professionals , I have really gathered a huge experience of working with addictive patterns. My approach in private practice distills the essence of what I have learned works most effectively.

Additionally am a qualified yoga teacher with a passion for holistic health. Currently I am undertaking additional teacher training in Iyengar Yoga with my yoga school

In private practice I offer a combination of talking treatments alongside various approaches from the yoga world. Yoga is a vast subject, and the physical practices alongside the philosophy have a treasure chest of tools to help work with addictive patterns. My intensive study over the last decade has transformed my world is such a positive way. I bring that energy to my work and all areas of my life.

Diploma in Dual Diagnosis' (2004- 2005, Middlesex University ) - professional qualification concerning work with substance misuse alongside mental health issues

Diploma in Integrative counselling ( 1998-2000, University of East London) - this course is fully accredited by the British Association of Counselling. I am currently undertaking accreditation with the British Association of Counsellors & Psychotherapists (BACP)

Certificate in Drug and Alcohol studies ( 2001-2002, Centre for Research on Drugs and Alcohol Behaviour)

British Wheel of Yoga - Teaching Diploma (2011)

Iyengar Yoga teacher training ( 2012- date, Yogic Path School) - currently undertaking an extensive qualification with Mira Mehta , widely regarded as one of the foremost Iyengar yoga teachers worldwide.

I would formulate a package to suit your unique situation from the list below :

1-1 CBT sessions for General Anxiety, Health Anxiety, Social Anxiety, PTSD Depression

Joint sessions with partner/relatives/friends etc

Personalized recordings of meditations for restoring balance to body and mind

Mindfulness based interventions

Referral to identified specialist services

This will be individualized to needs based on a thorough assessment. As a general principle my aim is to complete work together within a 6 month period. I would aim to refer people for longer term work should it seem necessary at any stage.
