Hi, my name is Georgina. I am a qualified Trauma Specialist, Addictions Counsellor and EMDR Practitioner (accred). I have more than 18 years experience of working in the field of Trauma and Addiction as well as in private practice more generally. Over the years I developed an interest in trauma work and continued with my professional development to gain a Post-grad Diploma in Traumatology and PTSD and have worked with trauma (as well as generic counselling) in part-time Private Practice since 2012. I set up Traumaform CIC in 2017 - a non profit community interest company with the aim to offer affordable long and short term trauma therapy, in person and online. I offer a structured approach to working through trauma through an evidenced based three phased approach that is set within a relational framework. I also offer a more holistic way of working if a structured approach does not feel right. Therapies are geared specifically to the individual, who I see as is the expert of themselves. By working together we can develop a plan going forward. Counselling and Therapy are not an easy process - they take time and commitment from both the client and the therapist, but it's a journey we take together. I offer a systematic and structured approach to working through Trauma and PTSD; I also offer more generic counselling. After a full assessment we will develop a therapeutic plan together to decide a way forward - i.e. whether to work with evidence based approaches or work in a more relational person-centred way to explore any issues . At Traumaform CIC I now work with a number of other practitioners who also specialize in trauma work, either as trauma-informed counsellors or trauma specialists, with a number of trainee counsellors available at significantly reduced cost.
