We all experience events in life that leave a lasting imprint on us. Sometimes these experiences continue to influence how we feel about ourselves, how safe we feel in the world, or how we respond in certain situations. You may notice patterns of anxiety, low mood, self-doubt, or emotional overwhelm that don't fully make sense and feel hard to shift. Often, this happens because the brain has not fully processed earlier distressing experiences. Instead, they remain "stuck" in the nervous system, easily triggered in the present. I specialise in using EMDR, an evidence-based therapy that helps the brain reprocess these experiences in a safe and structured way. Rather than simply talking about the past, EMDR supports your brain's natural healing capacity, allowing distressing memories to lose their intensity and hold over you.
I'm a fully accredited psychotherapist with both the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP) and EMDR Europe. I've been working as a psychotherapist since 2015, after completing a Postgraduate Diploma in CBT at Bolton University. Since then, I've continued to expand my skills with additional training in EMDR, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), and Mindfulness. I've worked with clients within both the NHS and private practice, as well as providing supervision for psychotherapy students and fellow therapists.
Depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, PTSD, anger issues, phobias, OCD
I'll work with you to shape an approach that fits your needs and background, often blending both CBT and EMDR. Together, we can focus on what matters most to you, whether that's processing past trauma, breaking free from unhelpful patterns, or building confidence and resilience for the future.
