About me

You may look like you’re coping while your mind never really switches off. Some days feel flat or disconnected, others the feelings arrive fast and hard. You might be juggling a lot, people pleasing, second guessing yourself and quietly burning out.

I’m Trupti. I work with high-functioning adults and ADHD minds who are living with trauma (PTSD and CPTSD), low self esteem and burnout. Therapy with me is an informal, compassionate space to reduce overwhelm, understand what’s going on underneath, and start making changes that fit your life and your nervous system.

Experience

I’m a BABCP-accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist, supervisor and trainer with over 14 years’ experience in mental health. I’ve worked across NHS mental health services, universities and private practice, including roles as a Complex Trauma Therapist in the NHS and CBT Lead and Associate Professor on a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology programme.

Through The Self Discovery Project, I now offer specialist therapy, supervision, groups and workshops, and The Self Discovery Book Club. My core approaches are CBT, Trauma-Focused CBT, EMDR and IFS therapy, and I’ve completed extensive further training in trauma, the nervous system and ADHD. I’m also an approved provider with Aviva, AXA, Bupa, Vitality, Allianz and WPA.

Specialisms

I specialise in trauma (PTSD and CPTSD), low self esteem and burnout for adults and ADHD minds.

For some, this looks like flashbacks, shame, feeling on alert or emotionally numb. For others, it’s a harsh inner critic, never feeling “good enough”, difficulty setting boundaries, or a slow drift into exhaustion and disconnection. These experiences can show up as anxiety, depression, perfectionism, people pleasing or OCD-type patterns.

Many of the people I work with also have ADHD or ADHD-leaning traits. Where that’s part of your story, we make sense of it together and adapt therapy so it works with your brain, not against it.

My Approach

My approach is specialist, collaborative and down-to-earth. We go at a pace that feels manageable, and I regularly check in so we can shape the work around what you need and what feels safe enough.

I draw on CBT and Trauma-Focused CBT to understand and shift patterns, EMDR to process traumatic experiences safely, and IFS therapy to work with different parts of you with curiosity and compassion. I also pay attention to your body and nervous system, using compassion-focused and body-based ideas where helpful.

Because I work with both adults and ADHD minds, sessions are structured but flexible, with clear language, small realistic steps, and simple ideas to try between sessions rather than long homework lists. The focus isn’t on “fixing” you, but on self-discovery, healing what needs attention, and creating a life that fits who you are.
