About me

Systemic Constellations in the City is a collective founded by Antonia, Emilie and Freddie, three fully qualified systemic constellation facilitators who trained together at the Centre for Systemic Constellations in the UK. Passionate about sharing this work more widely and making it accessible to the public, they established their practice in the City of London in 2023 and now offer monthly accessible and affordable workshops. They recognise the richness of group dynamics in constellation work and focus primarily on in-person collective sessions. They continue to deepen their practice through regular participation in training programmes and constellation workshops in the UK, alongside ongoing professional supervision.

Experience

Antonia Adeniji is an osteopath and nutrition coach, working in clinical practice and teaching both subjects over the past 3 decades. Latterly, she has become increasingly interested in the mento-emotional field and its intricate connection to physical health. This led her to participate in and subsequently train in Systemic Constellations. She has since undertaken a year's training in Body Shock Trauma with Bodynamics International, in addition to some foundational training in counselling skills. Architect, artist and educator, Emilie Queney develops installations, art projects and workshops in the field of architecture, craft and creativity. Following her passion, she trained in Systemic Constellations and qualified as a facilitator in 2022. She is currently training as a counsellor at the Psychosynthesis Trust. She is exploring ways of using systemic constellations to support the creative process. Freddie de Lisle spent thirty-five years as an executive search consultant in the insurance market. He is also involved in a variety of commercial ventures in farming and the service sector. He qualified in Family Systemic Constellations in 2022. Freddie studied Psychology & Neurology for two years at King's College London completing six modules of the MSc covering Psychological & Biological Foundations of Mental Health, Mindfulness, Psychosis and Techniques in Neuroscience.

Specialisms

What are systemic constellations? Systemic constellations are an experiential method for the respectful exploration of difficulties across multiple areas of life. It is a phenomenological approach that considers transgenerational influences and explores how they may be shaping the present, allowing for a breadth and depth of approach that expands beyond the individual. Epigenetic research suggests that extreme stress and trauma may have biological effects that can influence subsequent generations. Emerging psychological theories recognise that unresolved or traumatic elements of our ancestors' lives can impact us today. This may manifest as negative patterns, unhelpful dynamics, limiting behaviours, health problems, or feelings of being stuck. Systemic constellations can help to reveal and reconfigure these entanglements with the past. Often people erroneously assume that Systemic Constellations are to do with astrology. This is due to a poor translation from the original German term "Familienaufstellung", literally meaning "placing the family in space", which describes how representatives are utilised during the process of exploration.

My Approach

What happens during a workshop? A Systemic Constellation workshop brings together a group of participants who agree to abide by a code of strict confidentiality. Some participants will bring an issue, some will be chosen as representatives for that issue, and some may be part of a holding and witnessing of the process. Using representatives, a "living interactive map" is created which can reveal hidden dynamics, missing elements and imbalances within the system. The role of the Facilitator is to interpret and guide the emergent dynamics towards a place of greater resolution. That place of resolution may be a small step or a significant leap, depending on what is being examined and how much work has been done before presentation. How to be a representative? This may seem a very strange idea to those who have not participated in a systemic constellation before, and people can feel awkward or unsure initially. Representing is not acting, nor analysing and thinking about what is emergent. It simply requires representatives to tune into their bodies and report back sensations, urges to move or speak. The facilitator will guide the representative as to when and how to express what comes up for them. Once experienced it becomes more readily understood, and first timers are often amazed at how the flow of the constellation brings up these feelings and sensations without the need to think, analyse or even necessarily understand. Mission statement As a collective, we seek to share what we have learned and to give back what we have received, trusting in the transformative potential of this approach. We are therefore committed to keeping participation fees as low as possible and to offering a small number of bursaries for each workshop. The suggested contribution is £45 for all participants, whether attending as a representative or as an issue holder. This reflects the original way of working of Bert Hellinger and supports a focus on what carries the most energy within the group on the day. We understand that this may not be accessible to everyone, and we are happy to accept what you can afford, with a minimum contribution of £25. Safe environment We aim to hold each workshop as a supportive, safe, open and caring container. Respect for confidentiality is therefore a fundamental agreement for all participants.
