It was a long road to become a homeopath. But a road well worth travelling. I started out with a degree in Russian, of all things. However, I was a little stumped as to what to do with it: when I graduated the Berlin Wall was still standing. That meant no possibility of commercial jobs using Russian. And neither teaching, translating nor the diplomatic service appealed. I ended up going into international sales, attracted by the promise of travel and using my other languages.
Seven years later, with a lot more confidence, but feeling very unfulfilled, I went back into Higher Education to do a Graduate Diploma in Psychology. I did not know where it would lead, but trusted that it was the right thing to do. And it was. I then spent a very happy and fulfilled 14 years as a consultant, trainer and coach to big corporates in the arena of innovation and creativity. I loved this career, as the work was so varied and interesting - from helping to invent new products, and training executives to think creatively, to facilitating teams in conflict to resolve their differences. It involved a lot of travel, and I was known by my colleagues for always travelling with my portable homeopathy kit. So even back then, my passion for homeopathy was evident. It also required me to train as a Master Practitioner of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), that I now use to coach clients.
However, with the advent of Motherhood and trying to flexi-work (unsuccessfully), burnout started to set in. I knew it was time to change again, and ended up making a passion into a career - namely homeopathy. Three years later, with a Bachelor of Science with first class Honours in Homeopathy under my belt, I set up as The Coaching Homeopath in 2012. And the rest, as they say, is history.
I use homeopathy and coaching to help clients with complaints - physical or emotional - in the following areas:
1) MENOPAUSE - being in this phase myself, I have personal as well as professional experience
2) STRESS & ANXIETY
3) RELATIONSHIPS - be it love relationships, or any relationship you find stressful e.g. with your boss, a colleague, a friend etc.
When I am asked what kind of homeopath I am, I say 'I'm a flexible homeopath". This is because I am trained in both classical and practical methods, and therefore am able to choose the method and strategy that best fits the patient and their symptoms.
I see clients monthly (usually), either face-to-face or by Zoom / FaceTime / Skype etc. The first session is 120', the monthly follow-ups are 45-60 mins.
