I am Lee Avery and a Bowen Therapist, mother, grandmother, and animal lover with a passion for helping people to feel better both physically and mentally. In the past, my hobbies included competitive running and cycling at a high level, qualifying for the age group world championships of Duathlon. During this time I was frequently injured and experimented with many treatments. The only treatment that had an impact for me was Bowen Therapy. I knew I wanted to leave the corporate world and be able to help people improve their quality of life. For that reason, I became a personal trainer and UK athletics coach and trained in Bowen Therapy, qualifying with CBS in December 2011. After only a couple of years I realised that Bowen Therapy is my passion. I am glad to have been a personal trainer as it gives me an in-depth knowledge of movement patterns and I still use this knowledge today amongst many other tools that I have learnt along my journey. I am a member of BTPA, CNHC, and FHT and I very much believe in continuing to develop my skills and can often be found on Bowen Therapy and associated courses Lymphatic Drainage was just one of those courses I qualified and which I also love. Lymphatic Drainage can be used as a stand alone treatment or combined with Bowen Therapy. Over the years I have become aware of how much the mind can influence the body. So I studied and qualified in a number of talking therapies such as Psychotherapy, Clinical Hypnotherapy, NLP, Positive Psychology, Emotional Freedom Tapping and EMDR+ which enables me to offer my clients a holistic approach to balance both the mind and body. All of my treatments start with an initial consultation where I listen to establish the individual needs of each client, allowing me to provide bespoke treatments discussing the options with you to ensure that you are comfortable with the approach. I was delighted to receive the "Corporate Live Wire London and Southeast Prestige Award" for "Therapist of the Year" in July 2021, 2022 and again in 2023. I was also privileged to receive the award for one of the "WCBRB Best Businesses in the UK". My end goal is to help you feel better both physically and emotionally and improve your overall well-being. I have clinics in Finchampstead, Newbury, Reading and Bourne End.

I wish to make you feel welcome and know what to expect as many clients are nervous on their first appointment so I send out a confirmation email with all relevant forms (or posted), where to find me, what to wear and what to expect prior to your first appointment. There will be a thorough consultation at the first appointment taking into account your lifestyle and anything you wish to discuss. Assessments may be carried out if required and then a treatment takes place. Each appointment is tailored to what you require and lasts an hour. Bowen adn Lymphatic Drainage are both very gentle treatments and can be carried out fully clothed. An initial course of three treatments is recommended to see how you respond to treatment. Some clients will experience instant pain relief, whereas with others the body may respond over the next few days, but normally even chronic conditions will see relief with an initial set of three treatments.
