Keith Hagenbach
Mindfulness Practitioner in East Grinstead

Whatever challenge or difficulty you may be facing, whatever it may be that is draining the joy and satisfaction from your life, you do not need to try to do so alone. Whether you are suffering from anxiety or depression, family tensions, or work-related stress, or battling feelings of insecurity, poor self-esteem, or low self-worth, taking the decision to work with a skilled and experienced therapist is the first step to getting your life back on track. For over twenty years, I have worked in both the NHS, and now private practice. That has given me experience of working with a wide variety of people, each one bringing their own unique and different issues. I see people in the comfort and privacy of my own home or, if they prefer it, I work virtually, on zoom.

Background & Mindfulness Qualifications

I took a four year Dip.Psych at the Centre for Counselling and Psychotherapy Education in London. The course was essentially Integrative and Humanistic in nature, introducing students to a broad range of therapeutic approaches and encouraging us to adopt those best suited to each individual with whom we work.

There was particular focus on the transpersonal perspective and the significance of the soul journey. This is a time when many of us are experiencing challenges at the spiritual level and I have a special interest in working with those going through challenges of that nature.

My NHS-related work involved constant ongoing training, including courses on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy and Stress Control.

I am accustomed to working on the telephone - and skype sessions are a service I offer in addition to face-to-face work.

In addition to my psychotherapy qualifications, I hold an honours degree in Business Studies and a BA in English from Trinity College Dublin.

My Specialisms

Over two decades, I have worked with people encountering all kinds of challenges in their lives. Although I would not claim to 'specialise' the areas in which I have most experience include:

Relationship issues [working with individual and couples]
Stress and anxiety
Depression
Unresolved family issues
Bereavement
Problems with conception
Abortion and miscarriage trauma
Addictions
Low self esteem and confidence

Approach to Mindfulness & How I Work

I am always mindful that each client is an individual, and what works for one person will not necessarily work for someone else. I always do my utmost to develop whatever therapeutic approach I feel will be of most benefit to the person [or couple] with me at any given moment. Above all, I seek to establish in my home an environment in which people feel comfortable and secure, safe to trust me with whatever they wish without fear of judgement or criticism.
