About me

I’m Eoin, a Sports Injury Therapist and Myofascial Release specialist at Harmonised Muscles in Herne Hill, South East London. I work with people experiencing persistent aches and pain, muscular tension, stiffness, restricted movement and sports-related injuries, helping them move more freely and feel more comfortable in their body.

My approach looks beyond just the area that hurts. Pain and restricted movement can be influenced by tension and imbalances elsewhere in the body, so I combine hands-on treatment with movement assessment to build a treatment approach around the individual rather than simply treating symptoms.

Depending on your needs, treatment may include Myofascial Release, sports massage, deep tissue techniques and CranioSacral Therapy. I also incorporate movement and rehabilitation advice where appropriate to help support longer-term improvement.

I work with both active and non-active clients. You don’t need to be an athlete to benefit from Sports Injury Therapy. Clients come to me with everything from sports injuries and rehabilitation needs to long-standing neck, shoulder, lower-back and hip discomfort, muscular tightness and general loss of mobility.

My aim is to help identify what may be contributing to your symptoms, reduce restrictions and improve the way your body moves, while giving you a better understanding of how to manage your body between treatments.

If pain, stiffness or restricted movement is getting in the way of everyday life, work, exercise or sport, my aim is to help you restore movement, reduce pain and feel more at ease in your body.

Your first session gives us time to discuss what you are experiencing, how it affects your everyday activities, work or exercise, and what you would like to achieve from treatment. I will assess relevant movement and areas of restriction before deciding on the most appropriate treatment approach. Sessions are always adapted to you, with the aim of helping you make meaningful and lasting improvements.

Experience

I am a qualified BTEC LEVEL 6 Sports Injury Therapist with further training and experience in Myofascial Release, sports massage, deep tissue massage and CranioSacral Therapy.

My professional development has focused on understanding how muscles, fascia and movement patterns can contribute to pain, stiffness and reduced mobility. This allows me to draw on different hands-on techniques rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach to treatment.

I continue to develop my knowledge and practical skills so that treatments can be adapted to each client's individual needs, activity levels and goals.

Specialisms

I specialise in helping people with persistent muscular pain, stiffness, restricted movement and recurring areas of tension that may not have responded fully to more conventional approaches.

I commonly work with neck and shoulder tension, lower back and hip discomfort, sports and exercise-related problems, reduced mobility, muscular imbalances and restrictions affecting everyday movement.

A particular focus of my practice is Myofascial Release, using sustained, gentle pressure and longer-held fascial techniques to work with restrictions throughout the body. I also use sports massage and deep tissue techniques where appropriate, alongside movement assessment and CranioSacral Therapy.

You do not need to be an athlete to benefit from treatment. I work with both active and less active clients who want to reduce discomfort, improve mobility and feel more at ease in their body.

My Approach

My approach is centred around treating the person as a whole rather than simply applying pressure to the area that hurts. At the beginning of treatment, I take time to understand what you are experiencing and assess movement and areas of restriction that may be contributing to your symptoms.

Treatment is tailored to what I find and may combine Myofascial Release, sports or deep tissue techniques, movement assessment and gentle CranioSacral holds. Myofascial work often involves slower, sustained techniques rather than repeatedly working deeply into a painful area.

I aim to work with your body rather than force change, adapting the pressure and techniques throughout the session according to how your tissues respond and what feels appropriate for you.

My overall aim is to help restore movement, reduce pain and restriction, and help you feel more at ease in your body.
