About me

With over thirty years in therapeutic practice, I offer a bespoke combination of physiotherapy, shiatsu and craniosacral therapy to ease you from pain and stiffness into comfort and wellbeing. Experience

I studied shiatsu for two years with Mitsuki Kikkawa, an extraordinarily intuitive Japanese master, in Toronto, Canada. As my Toronto shiatsu practice grew, I studied craniosacral therapy with the Upledger Institute, learning another powerful technique for releasing stress and tension. After three years of practice, I decided to expand my ‘body of knowledge' and entered the physiotherapy program at the University of Toronto, qualifying in 1994. I moved to Hawaii in 1995, founded Hadley Rehab in 1998, and ran a very busy practice for ten years. In 2009 I moved to London with my British wife to have new adventures. I am HCPC registered in the UK as a physiotherapist and a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy. I look forward to helping you feel better.

Specialisms

In my Hawaii practice I focused mainly on treating chronic pain (i.e. pain you've had for six months or longer). In London I also help athletes and sportspeople of all ages and abilities ease their aches, strains and pains. I use shiatsu for deep muscle release, craniosacral work for gentle relaxation, and physiotherapy to focus on muscle balance, joint movement, stretching and strengthening. I enjoy helping people move more freely and feel less pain.

My Approach

Shiatsu is a Japanese therapy. Shi means finger, atsu means pressure. It works on similar principles to acupuncture but uses finger pressure rather than needles. Treatment focuses on balancing the entire body and releasing blocked energy trapped in tight muscles, helping you feel looser and move more freely. Craniosacral therapy is a very gentle hands-on therapy that slowly eases the body into releasing tension. This is deeply relaxing for body and mind, helping you feel calmer and more peaceful. I draw on these therapies in response to your specific needs, varying from very gentle to heavier pressure, assisting your body to release tension and become more balanced. Treatment is usually done with clothes on, so I recommend clients wear loose, comfortable clothing for my sessions.
