I have worked in the field of addiction both as a nurse and a therapist for the past 39 years. I have extensive experience with both chemical and behavioural addictions. I have been fortunate to have worked alongside some very experienced psychiatrists, psychologists and therapists in many different environments both in the UK and in Ireland. I have worked as a clinical manager as well as a therapist and in both cases very much as part of a team. I have also worked in private practice in the UK and Ireland. I have experience with both inpatients involved in treatment programmes and patients who have self-referred or been referred to me privately. I am a registered member of BACP and am registered with NMC. I also have a lot of experience in working with mental health issues such as Bi-Polar Disorder, Depression, Anxiety, Abnormal Grief Reactions and have a good understanding of ADHD and PTSD in particular when there is a dual diagnosis with addiction.
I have been a General Nurse for 39 years and a therapist for 34 years. I have been in personal recovery from alcoholism for the past 37 years. I had the privilege of working with Dr Max Glatt for 5 years. Max set up the first addiction treatment programme in the UK. I also worked in Ireland on the first-ever addiction treatment programme using only Motivational Interviewing under Tom Barth who was our Clinical Director. I have worked in private Psychiatric Clinics and hospitals and also been involved as a manager in the start-up of three new treatment programmes in the UK and Ireland.

"I was lucky enough to be introduced to Lyn following the death of my adult son, literally the worst time of my life. Just listening to Lyn's voice felt calming and gave me confidence that I could get through this. As a therapist she has a gentle, facilitating manner, whilst at the same time challenging you to work through your individual situation and find your own answers. I have spoken with Lyn on a one to one basis and also as part of a group and got so much from each situation. She is so very experienced, knowledgeable and yet totally relatable and empathic. I cannot recommend her highly enough."
"One of the best therapists I have come across who is able to relate to people in different age groups suffering from various issues from addiction to anxiety. Her personality enables you to feel comfortable and safe in her sessions."
"I feel fortunate to have met Lyn. She has helped me to understand myself and regain my self worth by giving me the tools to work through my issues of codependency and anxiety. Her listening and intuitive skills are invaluable and speaking to her one to one and as part of a group has meant I can move forward with confidence."
"Lyn is extremely knowledgeable with a vast amount of experience so when you work with her through challenges she is able to share great insight on a vast range of topics without judgement. Working with Lyn has helped me understand why things feel like they do as well as helping me work out what i can do to move forward. Lyn is compassionate, kind but also realistic therapist and has helped me to see things from a different perspective."
