I work with all kinds of people from many different walks of life. Many are used to coping with things on their own. From the outside, life may look successful and under control, while inside they may be struggling with anxiety, pressure or a sense of being stuck.
A number of my clients grew up in families affected by alcohol or other addictions. They may not have an addiction themselves, but living with a parent’s addiction can shape the role they took on in the family and how they learned to manage their feelings, relationships and needs.
I use Psychosynthesis counselling together with EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques). Talking and understanding why we feel or behave as we do can be an important part of therapy, but insight alone does not always change the deeper emotional reactions and repeating patterns that keep us stuck. EFT helps us work with both the mind and the body, reducing the intensity of difficult feelings and helping us respond differently.
I am a BACP registered Psychosynthesis counsellor.
I trained at the Psychosynthesis Trust based in London Bridge. I have a Post Graduate diploma in Psychosynthesis.
I am also an EFT and Matrix practitioner.
Growing Up Around Addiction
I work with people who grew up in families where alcohol or other addictive behaviours were present. These experiences can affect the roles we take on, how we relate to others and what emotional safety feels like in adult life.
Trauma and Complex Trauma (CPTSD)
I work gently with how trauma is affecting your life now, without asking you to relive painful experiences. Together, we can begin to understand and change the emotional patterns trauma may have left behind, without overwhelming your nervous system.
Survivor experiences in the family
Supporting people who carry the experience of being the child who survived, such as when there have been miscarriages, pregnancy loss, or the death of siblings. These experiences can quietly influence identity, belonging, and feelings of responsibility.
I do not work to a set formula. We begin with what is happening in your life and what you would like help with.
I will share what I notice, help you recognise patterns and explore what may be underneath the way you feel or react.
We take things at a pace that feels manageable for you.
