About me

I am 66 years old, married for 47 years, and the mother of two grown-up children. My own counselling journey began long before I ever trained as a therapist. It emerged from a deep need to understand myself, my relationships, and the patterns that shaped my life. That personal work brought tremendous self-awareness, healing, and clarity, ultimately leading me to the path I now travel with such purpose and gratitude.

After qualifying as a Counsellor and Psychotherapist in 2011 from the University of Stirling, I became a Counselling Supervisor in 2013. Over the years, I have worked with a wide range of clients and practitioners, each bringing their own story, complexity, and humanity. My lived experience—of long-term relationship, family life, personal growth, and the inevitable challenges that come with being human—sits alongside my professional training and expertise. Together, they allow me to offer a grounded, compassionate, and deeply understanding approach to therapy.

I am not a distant observer of human struggle. I am someone who has lived, questioned, learned, and changed. I bring that honesty and humility into the therapeutic space. I’m not just a therapist—I’m a human being with my own story, and that story informs my practice in meaningful ways. It helps me meet clients with empathy rather than judgement, curiosity rather than assumption, and presence rather than performance.

What matters most to me is creating a space where people feel genuinely seen and heard. A space where they can explore who they are, what they need, and how they want to live. My work is rooted in respect, relational depth, and the belief that every person has the capacity to grow when they feel safe enough to do so. I feel privileged to walk alongside people as they make sense of their experiences and move toward a more authentic and fulfilling way of being.
