About

Maria is an Integrative Psychotherapist with a strong grounding in CBT, attachment theory, Gestalt, and the person-centred approach. She draws on these modalities to create a safe, collaborative space where clients can make sense of their experiences, develop resilience, and move toward meaningful change.

She views therapy as a co-created process, where the relationship itself can become a catalyst for healing. Deep listening, attunement, and authentic presence are central to her practice. She works with clients facing challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, insomnia, PTSD, Loss, ACEs, relationship difficulties, and life transitions.

In addition to a Postgraduate Diploma in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy, Maria also holds a Certificate in Couples Therapy and a Diploma in Systemic Constellations.

She brings over 20 years of experience in adult teaching, facilitation, and alternative therapeutic practices. Her work has spanned a variety of settings, including family and systemic therapy, coaching individuals and couples, addressing intergenerational trauma, and restoring systemic balance. She has also worked extensively as a university lecturer, retreat leader, and group facilitator. Together, these experiences enrich her psychotherapy practice, offering a broad, embodied, and creative perspective in her work with clients.

MATERNAL AND PERINATAL MENTAL HEALTH

Maria’s developing niche is maternal and perinatal mental health, supporting women through the psychological, emotional, relational, and identity changes that can arise during pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and early motherhood. Her work in this area includes anxiety, low mood, birth-related trauma, attachment, maternal identity, relationship changes, and the impact of difficult pregnancy experiences, including hyperemesis gravidarum. She is especially interested in supporting mothers to feel understood, resourced, and less alone during what can be a profound and often under-supported life transition.

SYSTEMIC FAMILY CONSTELLATIONS

Family and systemic constellations offer a safe and confidential space where personal issues can be explored and hidden loyalties can be uncovered. One session is often enough to begin to identify and shift unconscious intergenerational dynamics that silently play in the background, stirring the course of our lives. Any movement in the system will help to restore the flow of love among its members and transform our lives for the better.

At the heart of my work is the belief in the client’s inner wisdom and capacity for growth. By integrating cognitive, emotional, relational, systemic, and somatic perspectives, I aim to support clients in developing deeper self-understanding, repairing attachment wounds, and building new ways of relating to themselves and others.
