I obtained my MA in Counselling (Cognitive Behavioural) from the University of Wales Newport. I am a qualified Counsellor and Psychotherapist and BABCP Accredited CBT Therapist. My experience ranges from counselling for substance misuse, domestic violence, terminal illness, mental health issues and teaching counselling in University (UWCN)and FE institutions (Gloucestershire College).

I have worked for Women in MIND, Women's Aid, Islwyn Drug and Alcohol Project, Cancercareline, Victim Support, BAWSO, and other agencies. Currently, I work in private practice Until recently I have worked for the NHS full time as a High Intensity Therapist and qualified supervisor for years treating anxiety related problems such as Panic Disorders, Health Anxiety, OCD, Generalised Anxiety etc, depression, self esteem, and traumas.
I have been responsible for the Mindfulness program in Cheltenham, am an independent Acceptance and Commitment Therapist, and at the forefront in the delivery and expansion of the Compassionate Resilience Program for complex, historical traumas.

I have trained with CRUSE Bereavement Counselling and hold a Diploma in Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP).
I specialise in anxiety, depression related issues and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder including complex traumas.

Approach to Cognitive Behavioural Therapy & How I Work

My work is centred on the CBT model of therapy therefore treatment plans are collaboratively drafted around a formulation which is evidence based and compliant with the NICE guidelines. I also work trans diagnostically. This means that regardless of your presentation/diagnosis, I will try to help you to improve the quality of your life holistically.
My approach is manly behavioural and strongly based on a therapeutic alliance between therapist and client.
Clients are encouraged to carry out exercises or activities in between session as integral part of CBT.
I comply by a Code of Ethics (BABCP) and if necessary I work in close collaboration with other professionals such as psychiatrists, mental health nurses, and General Practitioners.
My private practice prevents me from working with client who present risk issues towards themselves or other.
