Elaine B Brown Counselling

Elaine B Brown
Counsellor in Upper Sheringham

I am a qualified counsellor and an Accredited Member of the BACP, MBACP (Accred). I provide counselling for individuals and couples and offer face-to-face and online counselling. I have a private practice just outside of Sheringham in North Norfolk.

I worked for Wycombe Counselling Service/Bucks Mind for fourteen years. I also worked in the NHS as a nurse for over thirty years and have experience in providing counselling in an NHS setting.

I work with individuals who may present with some of the issues listed, however, some clients seek counselling for simply feeling adrift or unhappy with their lives; you may feel directionless, inauthentic, or simply fed up. Or may just want to be listened to and heard. I also offer couples counselling for couples who want to explore their difficulties and relationship issues.

I will endeavour to create a warm, welcoming and facilitative environment. The core conditions of empathy, unconditional positive regard and congruence underpin my work.

Person-centred counselling is all about the client being self-directing and self-determining. I will help you explore any issues that may emerge in the counselling and help to facilitate change and gain a new perspective.

For clients who have experienced trauma, I offer psychoeducation, emotional regulation techniques, meditation, breath work and a somatic approach. Working with trauma can be more directive whilst being underpinned by the person-centred approach.
