Leanne Roberts Counselling

Leanne Roberts
Counsellor in London

I have more than 20 years' experience of listening to individuals in various pastoral and therapeutic contexts, both privately and in institutional settings.

I chose to specialise in Jungian psychotherapy because Carl Jung's commitment to experiencing a more abundant life, through awareness of the creative urge and spiritual longing, resonated with my desire to support people in coming to a deeper understanding of themselves.

I offer the opportunity for a growing acceptance of one's potential, and consideration of those things which feel unresolved or limiting within a safe and non-judgemental environment.

Based in central South London, very close to London Bridge, I offer both in-person and remote sessions. Many people feel that in-person session are preferable if they are within travelling distance. However, I am experienced at working online (usually via zoom) with patients, so if you live outside London or have a particular reason for being unable to meet in person I am happy to discuss our working together in this way.

Background & Counselling Qualifications

To become a qualified psychodynamic psychotherapist I underwent rigorous post-graduate training at the Society of Analytical Psychology (SAP), a leading professional body for Jungian analysts and psychotherapists. This included my own in-depth experience as a patient in analysis, and working with people from a diverse range of contexts and backgrounds.

I am registered with the British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC) and the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP).

Approach to Counselling & How I Work

If you are considering psychotherapy you might have in mind a specific issue, such as anxiety, low self-esteem, grief, questions around sexuality and/or gender, or dissatisfaction with intimate relationships; alternatively, you might feel a more general sense of not being fully yourself, or wish to transform habits and patterns of behaviour. Psychotherapy can offer space and time to explore with someone else both presenting issues and their underlying causes. I offer a safe, non-judgemental space where you will be supported in exploring yourself more fully and more freely.

When you contact me I will get back to you within 24 hours to arrange a time for us to meet (in-person or online, depending on your circumstances and location) for an initial consultation. This allows us to talk through why you might be interested in psychotherapy; it will give you the opportunity to ask any questions about the way I work, and for us to consider whether we would like to meet regularly.

This session, like all other sessions, will last for 50 minutes. I charge £70 for this consultation. after which we come to a decision about whether to start working together. We subsequently agree on the fee for ongoing sessions, depending on income and session time. I occasionally have reduced fee openings.

I work with patients both in person and online, once- or twice-weekly. We can discuss location and frequency during our initial consultation.
