My approach to counselling and psychotherapy weaves together different modalities to meet the client's need at that time. The foundation of my training is psychodynamic, which is an exploration of conscious and unconscious forces that underlie human behaviours. During my training I have had the privilege of working alongside a diverse range of Psychotherapists and Analysts whose expertise and experience has helped me to develop my own practice in a more holistic and integrative way. I believe each of us is unique so work collaboratively with my clients in order to suit their need instead of trying to fit the client into a particular model. My work is supervised regularly and I continue to keep abreast with new developments and research within the field of mental health and well-being which further informs my practice.

Like more and more people I too have benefited from counselling and Psychotherapy at challenging times of my life which I feel has enabled me to empathise and gain a deeper understanding of what taking the first steps towards therapy can be like.

Past work has involved The Blenheim Project, West London Centre for Counselling and Brentfield Medical Centre. Alongside my private practice I also work for an NHS Adult Psychotherapy Unit in West London.

Approach to Therapy & How I Work

The first session is a useful time to be able to ask any questions you have concerning how counselling works or questions for me specifically as a counsellor. It is an opportunity to determine if counselling is the right option for you at this specific time in your life. If you have questions that you would like answered before setting an initial appointment, please feel free to contact me, and I would be glad to discuss those questions with you.

Much of the success of therapy directly hinges on the comfort of the therapy relationship between the client and counsellor. Therefore, getting to know one another and determining the "fit" between us is important in the first few sessions. If, after the first couple sessions, you decide that you would be more comfortable meeting with a different therapist, you are under no obligation to continue seeing me. My desire for you is that you are in an environment of comfort and safety as you go through the counselling process.
