Background & Counselling Qualifications

As an Integrative Therapist with a rich tapestry of experiences, I bring a unique blend of skills and insights to the realm of mental health and personal development. With a specialization in trauma-informed therapy, I've dedicated my career to supporting individuals through their most challenging moments, empowering them to heal, grow, and thrive.

My journey into the field of mental health began with a foundation in hospitality, where I spent 15 years developing various high performing teams through mentoring, coaching, and facilitating. This diverse background provided me with invaluable interpersonal skills, a deep understanding of human dynamics, and a passion for helping others maximize their potential.

**Qualifications:**
Trained in various therapeutic modalities, I employ an integrative approach that draws from cognitive-behavioral, psychodynamic, humanistic, and mindfulness-based techniques. This allows me to tailor my therapeutic interventions to the unique needs and preferences of each client

Trauma-Informed Therapy Specialist: Recognising the pervasive impact of trauma on individuals' lives, I've pursued specialized training in trauma-informed care. This equips me with the knowledge and skills necessary to create a safe, supportive environment where clients can explore and process their traumatic experiences at their own pace.

Team Development Expert: Leveraging my extensive experience in the hospitality sector, I excel in fostering high-performing teams that thrive in dynamic environments. Through mentoring, coaching, and facilitation, I empower individuals to cultivate their strengths, enhance their communication skills, and recognise behaviours or tendencies that might be affecting their performance.

My Specialisms

In my practice as a therapist, I specialise in addressing a range of mental health concerns, including:

Trauma: I provide compassionate support to individuals navigating the complexities of trauma, helping them regain a sense of safety, resilience, and empowerment.

Anxiety and Depression: Drawing on evidence-based interventions, I assist clients in managing symptoms of anxiety and depression, developing greater emotional well-being and inner peace.

Bereavement: Guiding individuals through the grieving process, I offer solace, validation, and coping strategies to navigate the profound loss of a loved one. As well as a safe space to explore the variety of emotions attached to loss.

Low Self-Esteem and Confidence: I work collaboratively with clients to uncover underlying negative beliefs and patterns contributing to low self-esteem and confidence, empowering them to cultivate self-compassion, self-worth, and self-assurance.

Approach to Counselling & How I Work

My approach to therapy is rooted in empathy, authenticity, and nonjudgmental acceptance. I strive to create a therapeutic alliance built on trust, transparency, and mutual respect, where clients feel seen, heard, and understood.
