Craniosacral Therapist in Ripon

I am a qualified biodynamic Craniosacral Therapist and work in North Yorkshire. Although this is a treatment that is wonderful for a wide variety of conditions, I specialize in trauma release and anxiety and stress.

Craniosacral Therapy is a hands-on, non-manipulative gentle treatment with the practitioner tuning into the energy rhythms of the body. It is possible to palpate the blockages within the system and then allow them to be released. This treatment supports the body in restoring back to health after having been compromised, physically or emotionally, by life events.

I am fully insured and I am a member and affiliated to the Craniosacral Therapy Association of the UK and abide by their code of ethics. I am also a Trustee of the Craniosacral Therapy Association of the UK.

My Specialisms

I have a wide age range of clients with a wide range of complaints. Some physical and some emotional. I have tried not to specialize in particular fields but I seem to be treating a lot of stress and anxiety. I would say that trauma release is a very large part of my work.
I absolutely love this therapy and have had many successful results.

Approach to Therapy & How I Work

Usually the client is lying on a treatment couch; always fully clothed and mostly facing up. I tend to start the session with my hands gently resting on the client's feet. From this position, I can 'listen' to the motions within the body and be directed where to go by sensing which is the priority for that session. I then usually move to put my hands either under or one above and one below - a sandwich! I will talk to the client about what I am sensing and try to help them listen to their own bodies. Sometimes there will be slight fuzziness, sometimes heat releasing, sometimes cold, sometimes juddering or fluttering. It is impossible to say how the body will react as everyone is different and everyone's bodies will resolve in different ways. I move around the body releasing held tensions and then finish the session at the feet. It takes around 50 minutes.
It is a very calm environment, the treatment is very gentle and I treat according to what the system is ready to resolve. It reconnects the mind, body and spirit and clients regularly report feeling balanced and empowered.
Generally, a client will need a course of around 5 - 8 sessions but sometimes the body rebalances in just a single session. Other times, particularly if the condition has been around for years, can take longer to rebalance.
It can literally be life changing and I love being able to treat people and make a real difference to their lives.
I work in North Yorkshire.
