Lulu Ferrand
Craniosacral Therapist in Ripon

I am a qualified biodynamic Craniosacral Therapist based in North Yorkshire, specialising in sensitive and highly responsive nervous systems.

Many of the individuals I work with experience the world deeply. They may describe themselves as empaths or highly sensitive, often feeling wired yet exhausted, overwhelmed by environments, or struggling to recover fully from stress or life events.

Craniosacral therapy is a gentle, hands-on treatment that supports the body's natural capacity to regulate and restore safety. Rather than forcing change, the work allows the nervous system to settle, widen its range and recover at its own pace.

I am fully insured and a registered member of the Craniosacral Therapy Association of the UK, where I also serve as a Trustee. I adhere to their professional code of ethics.

Background & Craniosacral Therapy Qualifications

I graduated from the Craniosacral Therapy Educational Trust in 2013 with a two-year diploma in Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy and have been in continuous clinical practice since qualifying.

I am a former Chair and Trustee of the Craniosacral Therapy Association of the UK, contributing to the professional standards and development of the field.

My postgraduate training has included advanced study in trauma-informed practice, paediatrics, chronic fatigue and distant craniosacral work. I have undertaken specialist workshops with practitioners including Katherine Ukleja, Richard Kramer and Satya Shepherd within the craniosacral community.

I remain committed to ongoing professional development and work within the ethical framework of the Craniosacral Therapy Association of the UK.

My Specialisms

My work centres on supporting sensitive and highly responsive nervous systems.

Many of my clients identify as highly sensitive or empathic and describe feeling overwhelmed by environments, relationships or prolonged stress. Some feel wired yet exhausted, struggle to recover fully after difficult life events, or notice that conventional approaches have felt too forceful or stimulating for their system.

While I work with a range of physical and emotional presentations, much of my clinical focus involves supporting the nervous system following stress, trauma and chronic overwhelm.

My approach is particularly suited to those who experience the world deeply and are seeking steadiness rather than intensity.

Approach to Craniosacral Therapy & How I Work

Sessions take place in a calm and contained environment. Clients remain fully clothed and lie comfortably on the treatment couch while I use gentle, hands-on contact to support the body's natural regulatory processes.

I begin by listening to the wider patterns of the nervous system and allow the session to unfold according to what the body is ready to process. Biodynamic craniosacral therapy is not forceful or manipulative. It works through subtle attunement and pacing, allowing the system to settle, widen its range and recover safely.

Throughout the session, I may reflect observations and invite clients to notice their own internal experience. The emphasis is always on building safety and awareness rather than pushing for change.

Sessions last approximately 50 minutes. While some individuals notice shifts quickly, others benefit from a series of sessions, particularly where patterns of stress or overwhelm have been present for a long time.

My work is grounded, steady and responsive to each individual system.

I practise in North Yorkshire. Please contact me if you would like to discuss whether this approach may be suitable for you.
