Georgina Davies
Meditation Practitioner in Freethorpe

I understand that beginning any kind of therapeutic work can feel daunting, as your therapist, you can expect a warm, grounded approach and a safe, respectful space to explore what you're experiencing. Whether you're looking for practical tools to help you manage day-to-day challenges, deeper support to unravel ingrained patterns and reconnect with yourself, or looking to overcome certain health challenges, we can work together in a way that feels supportive and moves at your pace.

Clients often tell me they leave sessions feeling lighter, clearer, and more connected to themselves. Over time, you might notice a greater sense of calm and resilience, improved energy, better sleep, and a shift in how you relate to yourself and others. Many people describe feeling more empowered and more in tune with their body's signals, with a growing sense of self-trust and compassion.

Whatever brings you here, my aim is to support you in moving from surviving to thriving — gently creating space for rest, healing and meaningful change.

Background & Meditation Qualifications

Before training as a yoga therapist, I spent many years working in healthcare, supporting people with complex needs and severe disabilities. This early experience helped shape my compassionate, person-centred approach, and gave me a deep respect for the uniqueness of each individual and the importance of meeting people where they are.

I'm also a mother, and I understand first-hand the challenges of balancing work, caregiving and the many demands of life. My own experience of navigating burnout and returning to a place of steadiness and health has given me a personal insight into the tools and practices that can support long-term healing and resilience.

Over the years, I've taught and supported a wide variety of clients, both in group settings and one-to-one. I've worked with people recovering from trauma, managing long-term health conditions, navigating stress and anxiety, and those simply wanting to reconnect with themselves and live in a more grounded, easeful way.

I hold a diploma in Yoga Therapy accredited by the British Council of Yoga Therapy and am a qualified yoga teacher with the Yoga Alliance Professionals. I continue to undertake regular professional development and supervision to ensure my work is safe, effective and always evolving.

My Specialisms

I specialise in supporting people with both mental and physical health challenges, recognising the deep interconnection between the two.

I work with individuals navigating emotional overwhelm, stress, trauma recovery, burnout, anxiety, low mood, and nervous system dysregulation. Whether you're dealing with feelings of being stuck, disconnected, or seeking to regain a sense of inner steadiness, my approach is focused on helping you find balance, peace, and resilience.

I also have a particular focus on supporting people with long-term physical health conditions, including (but not limited to) chronic pain, chronic fatigue, cancer recovery (including post-treatment recovery) and breathing difficulties such as COPD. In these cases, we explore both the physical and emotional aspects of recovery, helping you gently re-establish balance, strength, and self-trust in your body.

Alongside this, I also support those who are seeking a deeper sense of purpose or direction in life. You might be feeling lost, at a crossroads, or unsure how to move forward after a challenging experience. Drawing on a blend of therapeutic and life-coaching approaches, I offer a space to explore your values, gain clarity, and begin to move towards a life that feels more aligned and meaningful. For some, this includes reconnecting with a sense of spirituality or exploring what brings a deeper sense of connection. For others, it's about making empowered decisions, finding your voice, and navigating everyday choices with greater confidence and self-understanding.

Approach to Meditation & How I Work

My approach integrates the therapeutic tools of yoga — breath, mindful movement, body-based awareness and deep rest — with a psychotherapeutic understanding of the mind-body connection. This work is compassionate, non-judgemental, and always led by you. We move at your pace, with plenty of space to explore what feels most relevant and helpful at the time.

No two people are the same, and no two sessions are either. Together, we shape the work in a way that meets you where you are — whether that's creating a sense of stability, building practical skills for managing day-to-day challenges, or exploring the deeper layers of your experience. Some sessions are more body-based and experiential, others may feel more reflective or conversational — it depends entirely on your needs in that moment.

Alongside somatic tools, I sometimes draw on insights from yoga philosophy — offering ways to understand your experience that are empowering, non-pathologising, and deeply human. Many people find these teachings offer a refreshing and more compassionate lens through which to view themselves and their lives.

A key part of my work is helping you build a toolkit of practices that support your wellbeing long after our sessions end. These aren't quick fixes — they are skills for life: ways of relating to your body, your mind, and your inner world that can help you feel more connected, resilient and at ease over time.

I offer a free 15-minute phone call to help you get a feel for how I work and to talk through what support you might be looking for. You're very welcome to get in touch to arrange this.
