My approach is warm and relaxed with an aim to helping you find some of the answers that might be outside of your awareness due to the distress you may be going through at this time. Speaking to someone impartial and outside of your family and friend circle can help you to explore and unpack the very things that brought you to therapy in the first place. The first session is an opportunity to determine if therapy is the right option for you at this specific time in your life. If you have questions that you would like answered before setting an initial appointment, please feel free to contact me, and I would be glad to discuss those questions with you.
Much of the success of therapy directly hinges on the comfort of the therapeautic relationship between the client and therapist. Therefore, getting to know one another and determining the "fit" between us is important in the first few sessions. If, after the first couple sessions, you decide that you would be more comfortable meeting with a different therapist, you are under no obligation to continue seeing me. My desire for you is that you are in an environment of comfort and safety as you go through the counselling process.
