Cranial Osteopathy for Mum & Baby

Meadowside grew from a tiny seed - one osteopath in a small room, with a longing to make a difference - to the beautiful, intricate and powerful force of nature it is now.
We are now a family of highly skilled practitioners and individuals with varying passions, interests and specialities - and we all care above & beyond for our patients and for each other.

We love what we do, and put our heart & soul into our practice. We believe in the importance of a welcoming and supportive environment for promoting the best possible experience, and long-lasting health results for our patients and clients.
At Meadowside, we endeavour to help you love, appreciate and use your body to the full, in whichever stage of life you may be in.

Our team of highly qualified therapists will work with you to identify and understand the underlying cause of your symptoms.

We can then offer hands-on treatment, exercise prescription and plenty of practical advice to alleviate the immediate discomfort, as well as guide you through your recovery process in the long term.

Where needed, we will teach you how to adjust the movement patterns in your day to day life, to help keep you feeling strong and flexible, and minimise further problems.
If pain or discomfort are standing between you and the life you feel you should be living, then it'd be our pleasure, and our passion, to help you.

Approach to Osteopathy & How I Work

Our everyday activities such as work, exercise, even looking after children, may create patterns of movement and posture that strain the joints or muscles, and eventually lead to pain and dysfunction. Sometime an injury, old or new, can make things worse still.

"My role is to figure out what and where the problem is, and recreate freedom of movement and good function in the body. I do this by working on tight muscles and joints throughout the body, using massage, mobilisation and manipulation. I then discuss with my patient further ways to help relieve symptoms and simple exercises and ideas to maintain what we have achieved during the treatment." - Orit Huntley

I may also use Visceral Osteopathy where appropriate, working on the abdominal or pelvic organs.
Considering the effects that surgery, chronic inflammation or trauma to the organs can have on the body - for example protective posture, nerve connections, even emotional effects - it makes sense to address those organs in questions, and this kind of treatment is often very useful.

Practice Paediatric and Cranial Osteopathy.
Orit has seen many young ones, from babies with sleep or digestion problems to teens with football injuries - and she absolutely loves treating them all! Not only because they are adorable, but also because young bodies are so vital and quick to respond, very often just a little tweak or two will make a huge difference.
