My Specialisms

I am an integrative psychotherapist and counsellor with a specialism in trauma related work. I am dedicated to helping individuals overcome their challenges and lead fulfilling lives. Compassion Focused Therapy, (CFT) devised by Paul Gilbert, forms the foundations for my practice. I believe that psychotherapy has a profound and positive impact on the psyche of any individual.

I place emphasis on awareness, growth and self-discovery, meaning that I prefer to take the role of a facilitator or a mentor, rather than being the one with all the answers. My compassionate and empathetic approach creates a safe and supportive environment for clients to express their thoughts and feelings openly.

Alongside running my private practice I also work as a sessional counsellor in the third sector at New Pathways specialising in supporting survivors of sexual trauma.

Approach to Psychotherapy & How I Work

Integrative therapy is a holistic approach that combines different therapeutic techniques to address the unique needs of individuals. It takes into account the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual aspects of a person to promote overall well-being. This type of therapy acknowledges that each person is complex and requires personalized treatment. By integrating various modalities such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness, and psychodynamic therapy, integrative therapy aims to provide a comprehensive and effective treatment plan. It recognizes the interconnectedness of the mind, body, and spirit and emphasizes the importance of creating a healing environment that supports growth and transformation. With a focus on collaboration and flexibility, integrative therapy seeks to empower individuals to actively participate in their own healing journey.
