Dr Aisling Buckley-Hovell Psychotherapy

Dr Aisling Buckley-Hovell
Psychotherapist in London

Please note that I am not accepting new clients at present.

I am a chartered Clinical Psychologist with more than ten years of clinical experience.

I believe that the first step in making a meaningful change is to gain a better understanding of what is happening in our lives. My aim is to create a safe atmosphere where you feel listened to, so that we can focus on what matters to you.

In my experience, it is best to work flexibly together to find what will be most helpful. We will spend some time in the first weeks of therapy coming to a shared understanding of what is difficult, and what is keeping things that way. From here, we can think about what you feel needs to change and how to go about this. We will also consider what is important to you in your life and work towards this.

I will use my insight and experience with hundreds of clients to help you to find a way forward.

I offer a free 15 minute consultation - please email me at drbuckleyhovell@gmail.com to set this up.

I accept the following health insurances: Aviva, Cigna, Vitality, Bupa, WPA.

Approach to Psychotherapy & How I Work

I use a range of techniques from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion Focussed Therapy (CFT), Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT,) mindfulness, motivational interviewing (for behaviour change), and psychodynamic psychotherapy.

During therapy we will use a range of different techniques tailored to what would be most helpful for you. For example, some people find mindfulness a good way to start to tune into emotions, while others need a more practical, coping skills based approach.
