Alice Bradford
Relationship Therapist in Leamington Spa

Hi, I'm Alice, a counsellor working with individuals and couples, based in Leamington Spa.

Feeling overwhelmed and lost can be one of the most isolating experiences, often leaving people fearing they will never feel differently. The start of change can be talking to someone. I offer you a space to feel safe and heard.

I have experience in helping clients with relationship issues, family conflicts, trauma and abuse, self-esteem, and confidence. By developing a safe and open relationship with clients, they can have a space to truly be themselves, with permission to feel and experience emotions, perhaps previously hidden or felt to be unacceptable. This can lead to a greater understanding of themselves and so, to more self-compassion and finding it easier to navigate whatever issues or relationships problems they are facing.
I am a fully qualified, registered psychotherapist with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I have trained in person-centred therapy which is based on the idea that you know your self better than anyone, but that by being in a safe, non-judgemental relationship with me, you can better understand your thoughts and feelings.

This can help you re-connect to your own sense of self and knowing what you want, and how you are going to get there. It is a journey into both the known and unknown, and can be hard work, taking you to difficult places, but I am committed to being alongside you.

If you feel ready to begin, please get in touch and we can have an initial chat to see if you feel comfortable working with me (30 minutes online, charged at £30).

Approach to Relationship Therapy & How I Work

We are all unique and my job is to get to know you, find out what you want from therapy and for us, together, to work out what way of working is going to suit you. For example, you may want to share things you have never told anyone before and need time and space to feel heard and accepted, without judgement. Or, you may benefit from a more scientific approach where we look at your experiences and their impact from a cognitive or trauma-based perspective.

Whichever way our time together develops, I will offer you my respect, compassion and knowledge. It is my role to develop a safe and open relationship with you, so you have space to truly be yourself, with permission to feel and experience emotions, perhaps previously hidden or that you have felt are unacceptable. This can lead you to a deeper understanding of how your experiences have shaped you and lead to greater self-compassion and sense of self.

I find some clients benefit from being sent material (articles, information relevant to them) outside of session for them to read and reflect on. This is not for all clients, but I take an active role in offering this support if helpful.
