Who’s the boss? You or your fears?
The past year has brought an increasing flood of enquiries from people telling me they need help to overcome fear and anxiety, worsened because of the pandemic. One woman memorably told me ‘Fear is ruling my life and I’m desperate to stop it from doing so.’ Other people have explained how one fear seems to escalate to another, to the point where they are now nervous about leaving their house; meeting with friends or family; going to public places, and of course fearful of catching COVID and what might happen if they do. All of them report anxious days and broken or sleepless nights. Many tell me they are suffering severe IBS symptoms, and some describe how they are eating or drinking too much as a form of distraction.
I always spend around 30 minutes chatting on the phone or on a video call to anyone who contacts me for help, even if they don’t book in for sessions after we finish (I make sure there is no sales pressure). After listening to their story (and everyone has their own unique story), I explain to them that the subconscious mind is like a giant storage system that has been accumulating information, both negative and positive, since the moment of conception, and how it has continued to store every event in their life when they have been scared by something.
Because the subconscious has a strong protective function, it then replays to us what it perceives to be ‘scary’ information, in the mistaken belief that it is helping to keep us safe. Think of it like an automatic programme that keeps on running until someone presses the STOP button. One woman sounded quite excited when I told her this, and asked if asked me if I could do that for her? I replied ‘Unfortunately the answer to your question is no, I can’t press your STOP button but you can. My role is to facilitate and coach you to do so, using hypnosis and advanced regression techniques.’
You’ve probably heard of the Law of Attraction, which is defined as the ability to attract into our lives whatever we constantly focus on. Whether we are doing it knowingly or unknowingly, every second of our existence, we are acting as human magnets sending out our thoughts and emotions and attracting back more of what we have put out. This means that when we allow fear to take control, we are at greater risk of things going wrong in our life because we’re putting out a silent message that we’re expecting all kinds of catastrophes.
When working with me, you will neutralise all of the earliest fears in your life, together with any related anger or guilt, and install new positive information in your subconscious mind, allowing you to feel more calm, relaxed and confident. As a result, you will be able to take back control of your life and start to become the person you have always wanted to be, but just didn’t know how!
