Soul Care—New Moon in Pisces—March 13th.

The most valuable thing we can do for the psyche, occasionally, is to let it rest, wander, live in the changing light of room, not try to be or do anything whatever - May Sarton.

This New Moon embodies a Piscean weariness as she folds in on herself and rests in the velvety lap of the night sky. The Sun, Moon, Neptune, and Venus are all in Pisces, that sign associated with the crash of the ocean’s waves, the capricious currents that ebb and flow; with compassion that gushes from our human hearts. This weekend, we are all infused with the ancient rhythm of this celestial dance.

Something new will be fertilised in the darkness if we take time to rest and replenish; to gather our energy once more so that we can engage with life once more. Sisters, Emily and Amelia Nagoski, in their book, Burnout: The Secret to Unlocking the Stress Cycle, suggest that we all need 10 hours out of every 24 hours to rest our brain and our body not every day perhaps, but in increments over a week or a month—a luxurious late lie-in, an afternoon nap, an early night. Recognise the power of pause in these difficult times. Soften, let go, breathe out, revive in the darkness tonight.

There’s a frisson of expectancy when the Moon nestles so close to the Sun. When the Moon is in the element of water, she reminds us to be tender and gentle with ourselves.
Emotions may have crested this week, or been displaced by busyness, distractions, to-do-lists that somehow never seem to get done.

As we intentionally withdraw, unplug, soften and let go, we will revive in the darkness, and in the silence, we will find ourselves again.
